Open mic was fun.  I foolishly stood outside talking to people afterwards until 3 am.

Movie Challenge Day 5

Good morning!  Happy Friday.

I’m generally not a fan of rom-coms, but I love that this movie doesn’t have the traditional ending.  She doesn’t get the guy (any of the guys, actually), but she gets her dream job and meets her idol.  That’s still a pretty happy ending.

Work, then hanging out with some friends at an open mic tonight.  See you guys later. 

Reading Is Hard

Good evening.  I had a nice time at dinner with Jessica.  For the first time in the history of our friendship, we agreed that we can’t finish a book.

Burial Rites is about a murder in Iceland, but in reality it’s about as engaging as reading an IKEA catalog.  It’s taking me so long to stumble over the names that I can barely follow the plot. 

So, on to The Alice Network.  I have high hopes for this one.

Good morning.  I really miss sleep.

I have some very fundamental issues with the way this adaptation ignored half the plot of The Club Dumas.  Still a good movie, and check out the book if you have not already.

Movie Challenge Day 3

Top of the morning. 

This movie is super dark, and the ending is incredible.  It was also the first time I recall seeing most of these actors in anything, and a majority of them went on to have incredible careers.

Sleep Is Overrated

Good evening.  Today has been a decent day.  Now I’m screwing up my sleep schedule by staying up to watch the new episode of Castle Rock, which is amaaaaaazing.

I really like dystopian thrillers, and this one has a very Philip K. Dick feel to it.  Also, anyone know what happened to Emily Watson?  I feel like I haven’t seen her in anything in a hot minute.

Something Different

Dustin Wood challenged me to list a different “bad” movie that I love every day.   

There are so many great things about this film.  They did so much on a small budget.  I love the “strangers locked in a room” genre.  I even love the two sequels.   I hope that the reboot ends up coming through.

I really don’t want to talk about my personal life right now, so I’m going to bed.  Peace out.
